Fail To Give Advice

Territory Housing is nominally devoted to the interests of Territory People.
It has many fine words to say about how it is devoted to the welfare of the People.
To provide good housing.
To improve the quality of their housing and their home environments.

And it has many fine words to say about how they are devoted to keeping you - the Tenant - out of debt.

They want to help you manage your finances so's you are not in debt.

So that you pay their rent.

Not because they are greedy or are a profit making enterprise, but because they want to help you.

So what would you think if they came around and inspected your property and saw a place that it would cost you more than $2000 to get out of?

Because there were so many things wrong?

You'd think, perhaps, that a normal 'duty of care' with regard to the above might make them say something to you about it, wouldn't you?  Or - failing that - perhaps common decency?

And if they said nothing but waited like hyenas in a thicket until after you'd left to hit you with charges for these things then what would you think? Scumbags, maybe? Derelicition of Duty? Enemies, not friends?

In fact it would have been difficult for them to say anything when there was nothing wrong, wouldn't it?

Truly they couldn't say anything. They couldn't warn that this or that was wrong, because this or that was not there to be warned about.

And they couldn't warn about their intention of raising spurious and exorbitant charges, could they?

So we can  it's a bit of a dilemma for them.

Logically if there is stuff to charge large amounts of money about they should forewarn. If they don't forewarn they logically can't charge.

BUT THAT'S LOGIC!  BE AWARE LOGIC, REASON, GOOD SENSE, COMMON DECENCY, GOOD PRACTICE, HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH HOUSING KATHERINE.
